Welcome to a glimpse into my life! Let’s see, what’s the basics. My name is Amanda Gilliam, I’m 29, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I lived all around the world, and moved back to Ohio 2 years ago. I lost my husband SGT Adam K Gilliam on August 23,2014 while he was on active duty to PTSD related suicide. I, myself have not been the same since. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD. Since, I have used his strength and story to better the lives of others who struggle with this debilitating but treatable disease. I’m a national suicide prevention advocate, PTSD awareness educator and ambassador, co-chair of  The Hand Me Hope Project which is dedicated to providing hope and giving a voice to the stories of the marginalized.I’m also the founder of Operation Bear Hug which is dedicated to providing veterans past and present with PTSD and other mental health issues hope, information and support within the community. Professionally I am a creative writer and photographer. I enjoy spending time with my dogs, Carl, a chocolate lab/mastiff and Esme, a border collie/blue heeler. Carl is a trained PTSD therapy dog, search and rescue, and companion animal. Esme is just kind but demonic rascal. I’m working on my first book, my memoirs. I also have a few other ideas in the air for right now. So if i don’t go into depth about something in particular just e-mail me and I will answer any questions. Also, I will be hopefully be publishing my first book of poetry! My work tends to be a little on the darker side so please read with caution. I hope you enjoy what you read and if you have any suggestions or feedback leave me a comment!! I love to hear what you all have to say!!! Thanks all!!
